They promised a spectacular show and indeed it was!
The Christmas Special of Mahalia’s Corner which came off last Sunday night, was a fabulous experience.
The sweet sounds of music filled the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre and the packed house got more than their monies worth.
Featuring 2 Mile Hill, Ch’an, GP Horns and a surprise performance by Cover Drive, and also the popular open mic segment, what else could patrons ask for?
2 Mile Hill opened the show and got everyone in a festive Yuletide mood. Their original song We don’t have snow, describing the Barbadian Christmas weather experience, was a crowd favourite.
Ch’an was amazing bar none. Her vocal range is incredible. Her songs included Little Drummer Boy, Santa Baby, and The hat I got for Christmas is too big which, she said, was her favourite Christmas song as a child.
The rising local singing sensation also performed an original song, Body, which was well received. Before she ended her performance, the appreciative audience requested that she close with Chandelier which she is best known for.
Ch’an happily obliged and again gave a fabulous performance of the song.
The special Christmas edition of Mahalia’s Corner follows on the heels of a successful season of the popular open mic showcase which concluded in October to packed audiences.
The season saw performances from the likes of Joaquin, Buggy Nhakente, Marvay, Iron Pipe, Lil Rick and Red Plastic Bag.
