With his alleged victim still hospitalized, a 42-year-old mason accused of assault was remanded to HMP Dodds today, for 28 days in the first instance.
Magistrate Douglas Frederick denied bail to Selwyn Anthony Harry, of Scarborough, Christ Church when he made his first appearance in the District ‘A’ Criminal Court.
Harry is accused of doing serious bodily harm to Marsent Skeete with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him, or do some serious bodily harm to him.
He was not required to plead to the offence, which allegedly occurred on February 11.
The prosecutor objected to Harry being granted bail based on the seriousness of the offence and for the protection of society, adding that the complainant was still warded at hospital.
Harry returns to court on March 13.
