A man who was listed on the police charge sheet as having no fixed place of abode was granted his freedom Tuesday after spending 28 days on remand at HMP Dodds.
Antonio Ricardo Franklyn was accused of unlawfully assaulting Andrea Edey on February 19. He denied the charge when he made his first appearance before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant, and was remanded to jail when he was unable to secure a surety to post his $7,000 bail and get someone to verify to the court where he would be staying.
However, Franklyn had a change of heart and pleaded guilty to the offence when he went back before the magistrate yesterday.
His sister also informed the court that he would stay with her.
Franklyn was allowed to go after being sentenced to time served on remand.
