Lowe takes nasty jab at Mottley; same sex marriage

Minister of the Environment and Drainage Dr Denis Lowe has condemned same sex marriage, and ridiculed childless women in a manner that evokes memories of remarks used by parliamentary colleague Mara Thompson.

Addressing a ceremony in honour of mothers within his Christ Church East constituency, Lowe denounced what he saw as advocacy to legally wed persons of the same gender.

“There is an attempt in certain quarters to advance a legislative call for same-sex marriage, and I do not have any intention, within or without the legislator to support any such notion because I still believe in the biblical way of life”.

During a debate in Parliament on March 8, Thompson had said in an obvious reference to Barbados Labour Party (BLP) leader Mia Mottley and Opposition parliamentarian Santia Bradshaw, that the BLP was being led “by someone who does not have children”, adding, that “she who sits beside her [meaning Bradshaw] was the same thing”.

Lowe took an equally nasty dig Sunday saying, “I don’t buy into the notion of those who perhaps because they have not demonstrated in any way, shape or form, the maternal instinct; because perhaps they have not had the joys of nursing and suckling a young child; perhaps because they have not experienced the joys of raising children”.

He took a further swipe at Mottley, who for all intents and purposes is considered the current alternative choice for Prime Minister, adding, “I am not about to support any idea that the greatness of the nation is bounded up in any individual who does not regard the importance of motherhood, of family, and of marriage according to the biblical standard.

“We want our boys and our girls to grow up in a society where they are not embarrassed because they live in a house where mum is a woman and dad is a man,” he added.

  • I am not gay but I respect people right to choose their sexual orientation. Just be open about it.
Ms. Mia Mottley is the best hope for Barbados at this time. She has paid her dues. She is well prepared to take the difficult decision to put our lovely island back on the right economic track. Sexuality is not a reason to block Bim from having its first female Prime Minister. Mia for PM

  • Here are the countries where same sex marriages are legalized

Argentina , Belgium, B razil, Canada, Denmark, England/Wales, Finland, France , Iceland, Ireland, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, United States and Uruguay .

South Africa is the only country with a majority black population which supports bulling. Don't let Barbados become the second black country. Tell Inniss to go to hell. Same sex marriage will be in the forefront of the next general elections. GDP, foreign debt and foreign exchange are not as important as the moral fabric of a country. I am happy to have a voice on the floor of the House of Assembly in the person of Dr. Lowe. All decent Barbadians whether DEEE OR BEEEE should support Dr. Lowe's opposition to same sex relationships. I want to hear another Member of Parliament who has the guts to stand up and say that he or she supports capital punishment as the penalty for the heinous crimes that are being committed in Barbados. Don't let any politician play down these important issues and sneak same sex marriage through the back door. Say no to bulling.

  • Donville seems to enjoy running his mouth on all issues whether he is sincere or not about what he is saying. I would like all of you who come in contact with him, to ask him if he would like his son to bring home a male partner, watch them go into the bedroom and do the opposite to what he , Donville, and his wife are doing in another bedroom. Until he can publicly state that he supports that lifestyle for his children, tell him to shut up and look for something else bray about. God Gave females the ability to naturally lubricate and let males enjoy the pleasures of sex. Man gives man vaseline to to lubricate but after a few years the muscles of their backside are so relaxed, that they smell like mobile chemical toilets. Is this the direction he would like to see our young males go or his he talking for the sake of talking?

  • It has been scientifically proven that bulling is a health hazard. Say no to same sex marriages. the following has been copied from the New Zealand A.I.D.S Foundation

Three reasons gay guys are more likely to get HIV
As a gay or bi guy, you’re much more likely to get HIV through unprotected sex than your average straight guy. Ever wondered why? Here’s three reasons why nearly 80 percent of HIV diagnoses in New Zealand are among gay and bi guys:
    1. It’s much easier to get HIV from anal sex
It’s been scientifically proven that anal sex is riskier than vaginal sex when it comes to HIV. Eighteen times riskier to be exact. There are two reasons for this. First, the cells in the ass are much more susceptible to HIV than cells in the vagina. Second, both semen and rectal mucosa (the lining of the ass) carry more HIV than vaginal fluid. Combine this with the fact that gay and bi guys have much more anal sex than straight guys, and you’ve got yourself a lot more risk right there.

    2. There’s already a lot of gay and bi Kiwis who have HIV
In a recent Auckland study, 1 in 15 gay and bi guys were found to have HIV. So, if you’re a guy hooking up with other guys, you’re more likely to meet someone who has HIV (and according to that same study, there’s a 20 percent chance that person with HIV doesn’t know it yet).
