A teenager who was remanded to jail Thursday will know next month what punishment he will face for a theft he committed earlier this week.
Kevon Odane Forde, 17, of Upper Collymore Rock, Brittons Hill, St Michael confessed to Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court that he stole a haversack worth $300, a jacket worth $120, a shirt worth $90 and $800 in cash belonging to Nathaniel Piggott on May 23.
After the police prosecutor outlined the facts, the magistrate remanded Forde to HMP Dodds pending sentence.
He returns to court on June 21.
In another case, a 59-year-old vendor denied an assault charge leveled against him.
Lawrence Andrew Watson of #86 Gibbons Terrace, Christ Church is accused of unlawfully assaulting Anthony Ward Wednesday.
The police prosecutor did not object to bail and Watson was allowed to go on a $3,000 surety.
However, Magistrate Cuffy-Sargeant ordered him to stay away from the complainant.
Watson is scheduled to return to court on July 13.
