Barbadians enjoy Whit Monday holiday at the beach

It was a quiet Whit Monday for Barbadians.
While the roads were noticeably free of the normal hustle and bustle, the beach was clearly the venue of choice for scores who hit the cool waters to beat the day’s heat.

At Batts Rock Beach, picnic tables were covered with all types of culinary delights as families and friends gathered to have fun.

A large group comprising of the Lynch, Bailey and Worrell families told Barbados TODAY they came out to relax and have fun.

Matriarch of the ten households in attendance, Judy Bailey, said the huge gathering was a normal family activity done twice or thrice a year. Surrounded by her six children, 19 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, Bailey leisurely sat under a tree with her sister Cytomia Worrell and her family taking in the sea breeze and enjoying the home cooked food.

A minister at Worldwide Apostolic Church, Bailey said, “The word of God says that a family that prays together stays together and this is what my family does all the time.
They get together and they just go and chill out and enjoy themselves and I believe that’s the way families should be.
“All families aren’t the same way, with some against some, but at the end of the day you are still family I believe God ordained a family that they should stay together. If you can’t stay together with your family, who are you going to stay together with”?
Over at Browne’s Beach, scores relaxed on the sand, while others were busy enjoying the cool, blue waters and children were busy running and playing games of all kinds.

  • Patty. How in tarnation can you dismiss the dinosaurs existence? are you saying that those fossils are not real? Read this then get back to me. Our solar system is about the size of a single grain of sand in all the earth's oceans and deserts put together, when compared with our galaxy. Our galaxy is the same size when compared to our universe. and there trillions upon trillions of universes termed as the omniverse or the multiverse. So yes Patty, God made all that in six days and he singled out people like you on the earth which itself is billions of times smaller than our smaller than our solar system. Patty, Think. You are brainwashed. The bible was written 3600 years ago by man to entrap, enslave and control the minds of mankind. Study the Samarians, their history and intelligence is older than the bible. researchers are only discovering that they had an advance form of mathematics, and only what we now know as the smallest human genetic, known as our DNA, well the Samayans has it's symbol embedded in their genetic code long before the bible was written. Check for yourself all religions and churches are money making entities. The Vatican Bank has just built a US $ 900 million infra red telescopr to spot the coming of Nibiru, a planet within Planet X our sun's binary twin. Do the research Patty, don't just listen to your pastor, he's brain washed too. When I was young no one was more God fearing than me. I studied Judaism, Christianity, Catholicism, Hindi and Muslim. Then I started reading and studying a lot. I believe in brotherly love, relief aka charity, and truth. Those are the pillars of lofe.

  • And by the way, the Bible is not just any ordinary book. It is the Word of the Living God...The Bible has outlast, outlived all those who tried to get rid of it. Remember Voltaire and others tried. The Bible will remain, it is no ordinary book

  • Oh, Peter my boy there is absolutely no truth to the rumour about dinasours roaming millions of years ago. But for sure God always existed. These fallacies about millions and millions of years ago, are just fallacies

  • The bible is a book and anybody with any intelligence realises it's a manual like you get with your new washing machine new car etc. It's something to read and try hard to live your life by but it's only a book . Like Disney put messages out to children in their movies it's just been taken to far now .
