A 36-year-old woman is currently on $7,000 bail after appearing in a Bridgetown Court yesterday accused of committing an act of serious indecency against a mentally challenged man.
Kira Nakeisha Cassandra Gill of #12 Habour Hill, Pinelands, St Michael went before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant charged with allegedly committing the offence on June 5.
She was not required to plead to the indictable charge.
There were no objections from the police prosecutor to Gill being granted bail, and she was released when the court accepted her two sureties.
Gill will make her second appearance in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on September 6.
In a separate matter, Winston Adolphus Brathwaite of Eversley Road, Brittons Hill, St Michael was not required to plead to a wounding charge.
The 59-year-old landscaper is accused of causing serious bodily harm to Rawle Cumberbatch with intent to maim, disfigure, or disable him, or to do some serious bodily harm to him.
There were no objections to bail from the police prosecutor Sergeant Cameron Gibbons, and Brathwaite was released on a $9,000 surety. But he was ordered to stay away from the complainant and his property.
He makes his second appearance before Magistrate Cuffy-Sargeant on September 7.
