A 35-year-old who assaulted an Asian woman after stealing items from a Bridgetown store will know her fate later this month.
Keisha Rechelle Clarke of Silver Hill, Christ Church went before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant Monday where she admitted to assaulting Lele Wang on June 17, occasioning her actual bodily harm.
She also confessed to stealing a pair of shoes worth $12.90, two packs of knives worth $10, two packs of spoons worth $27.80 and a pack of forks worth $14.90 belonging to Dollar Savers Trading and New Shanghai Import and Exports on the same day.
Sergeant Cameron Gibbons revealed that Clarke entered the Swan Street store and took the aforementioned items and left without paying.
Wang pursued her and a physical altercation ensued which resulted in the complainant receiving soft tissue injuries to her face and head.
The complainant appeared in court yesterday with a black eye and a bruise near her upper lip.
Speaking through and interpreter, she told the magistrate that she has to pay the doctor a second visit later this week for another check up.
With that, Clarke, who is who is known to the law courts for committing similar offences, was remanded to Dodds Prison.
She returns to court on June 26 for sentencing.
