A 53-year-old labourer was Tuesday remanded to Dodds prison until July 7 after he was unable to find someone to post bail on his behalf.
It is alleged that Anthony Seymour Gay of Bydes Mill, St George used the threatening words “this is your last straw, I going to kill you” towards Nekeisha Green before unlawfully assaulting her on June 24.
However, Gay denied the allegations when he appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.
And while there were no objections to bail by Sergeant Martin Rock, the prosecutor asked that conditions be imposed on Gay’s freedom, including reporting to a police station and staying away from the complainant and her place of work.
At the end of the day, Gay had no one to sign for bail on his behalf, which resulted in him being remanded the St Philip penal institution.
