The transportation woes in White Hill, St Andrew may have been the saving grace for Chadwin Romario Lowe, who would have otherwise been required to report to a police station twice per week as part of his bail conditions.
Lowe, 21, appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick Tuesday morning in the No.1 District ‘A’ Criminal Court, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge of wounding Shacalo Boyce with the intent to cause serious bodily harm on April 28, 2017.
Initially, the prosecutor had requested that Lowe be made to report to a police station at least twice per week. But in rendering his decision, Frederick took into consideration how far the defendant resided from a police station, and released him without the condition being added.
Lowe was however granted $3,000 bail with one surety and ordered to stay away from the virtual complainant.
He returns to court on October 23, 2017.
