Talented all-rounder Rivaldo Clarke hit an attractive 76 and grabbed a six-wicket haul, as Barbados defeated the Leeward Islands by 35 runs in the Regional Under-15 Championship Friday.
Playing at the 3Ws Oval, the former Wesley Hall Primary School star batsman and St Leonard’s Boys all-rounder was the foundation on which Barbados built their 192 for 7 in 50 overs.
Such was Clarke’s dominance that the next best score in the hosts’ innings was Jacob Bethell’s 29. Both Kenny Sutton (2 for 23) and Jaylen Francis (2 for 26) finished with two wickets. Clarke faced 116 balls and struck eight boundaries.
When the Leeward Islands batted they again suffered at the hands of Clarke. He bowled with immaculate line and length and guile to snare 6 for 28 as the visitors were dismissed for 157 in 44 overs. Carlton Tuckett impressed with a workmanlike 54 while Rasheed Henry chipped in with 37.
