Local Grammy Award winning superstar Robyn Rihanna Fenty traded her Aura International costume for a striped blue blouse, blue jeans and a pair of nude boots as she paid final respects to Joseph Nathaniel Alexander, the grandfather of her best friend Sonita Alexander.
Rihanna introduced a sense of levity to the otherwise sombre occasion when she made her appearance at Abundant Life Assembly in Bank Hall, St Michael this afternoon.
The Barbadian superstar had appeared on the road for Grand Kadooment with Aura International, as she was seen on Black Rock main road wearing turquoise hair and a stunning costume created by local band designer Lauren Austin.
However, today at the thanksgiving service she appeared stoic and compassionate as she mourned with her best friend for Alexander, who was described as a person who loved his family, and fought for vendors’ rights.
Barbadians from all walks of life, including Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler, entertainment stalwart Richard Stoute, comedian Trevor Eastmond and members of Barbados Association of Retailers Vendors and Entrepreneurs, attended the thanksgiving service.
