The presence of Tropical Storm Maria in the area has forced LIAT to cancel two Barbados flights today.
The carrier said LI 374 from Barbados to St Lucia and LI 375 from St Lucia to Barbados have been cancelled.
LIAT said it was forced to cancel the flights to ensure passenger and crew safety.
Passengers who have been booked on these flights will be allowed to rebook and have all change fees and fare differences waived only if they do so on or before Tuesday, September 19.
LIAT said passengers who decide to travel but are unable to complete their journey due to disruption caused by weather conditions will not be provided with meals, transportation and hotel accommodation. Passengers with onward connections are advised to contact the respective regional and international carriers.

Planes were designed to deal with all types of flying conditions. If they were not; they would not be in the sky. The CEO of LIAT said they are losing millions because of Irma, yet LIAT cancelled flights for today as far as Antigua and St. Kitts. Unnecessary cancellations.

Since when did it need an impending storm for two LIAT flights to be cancelled?

Hopefully Barbadians are taking these disturbances very serious ,and are not waiting until they hear that severe weather or worse is heading their way. It would be wise to stock up on perisishables bottled water ,lamps ,lanter,or search light Batteries and such even if they don't have to use them at this time. One should be aware of the fact that if there is an emergency Super Market Sheves will be emptied in no time . Crowds will be horrific , and patience would not be easily demonstrated.
Just a word to the wise ,and those that are not quite as wise. Delay often brings danger ,and in some cases ,worse ,death.

If a hurricane forms in the Arctic ocean a day Russia is under hurricane watch, LIAT would cancel all flights in the blink of an eye.
