The heavy showers that drenched the island today are likely to get even heavier tomorrow, according to the Barbados Meteorological Services, which issued a flood warning this afternoon.
The Met office has attributed the pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms across the island to the combination of an upper-level trough system and a passing tropical wave.
It cautioned that this activity would likely intensify into tomorrow, and rainfall accumulations of three to five inches are likely.
It has advised residents in flood prone areas to exercise caution and remain on alert.
The flood warning remains in effect until further notice, the Met office said.
