A 19-year-old Christ Church man, who has been on remand at HMP Dodds for the past 28 days, was today released on $4,500 bail.
Darian Miguel Layne, of No. 163, Parish Land, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant to stealing a $1,500 handbag, a $40 purse, US$120, a $1,000 pearl necklace and a cellular phone belonging to Nicola White on September 22.
Layne, who was not previously known to the court, was caught on CCTV carrying out the crime.
The accused man, who works as a groom, is expected to return to the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on January 12.
In the meantime, he must adhere to a 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. curfew and report to the Oistins Police Station every Monday by noon with valid identification.
A pre-sentencing report has also been ordered into his life.
