Twenty-two-year-old Ron Damien Anthony Hazell might have expected today to be ordered to undergo drug rehabilitation at Verdun House.
Instead, when the Gills Road, St Michael man went before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant he was sentenced to three months at Dodds.
Hazell had recently pleaded guilty to possessing apparatus for the use of cocaine and had been on remand for the past 26 days, including a three-week stint at the Psychiatric Hospital where he was assessed by doctors to determine if he should undergo drug rehabilitation.
However, he found out today that the report from Verdun House “was not positive”, hence he would spend time in prison for his offence.
The time already spend on remand will be credited to the sentence.
