A 46-year-old St Michael man, accused of eight drug offences, was granted $9,000 bail today in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.
Tedroy Henderson Glenfield Gittens, of Military Road, Bush Hall, is charged with possession, possession with intent to supply and trafficking of 111.38 grammes of cocaine worth $5,569.
The carpenter is further charged with possession, possession with intent to supply and trafficking of 113.32 grammes of cannabis worth $566, as well as possession of apparatus for the misuse of cannabis. It is also alleged that he had in his possession 87 ecstasy pills with an estimated street value of $1,740 when police executed a search warrant at his residence last Saturday.
Gittens, who is being represented by attorney-at-law Shadia Simpson, pleaded not guilty to all the charges when he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant.
However, there were no objections to his bail so the accused man was released on one surety on condition that he must report to the District ‘A’ Police Station every Thursday before noon with valid identification.
He makes his next appearance before Cuffy-Sargeant on March 6.
