A 23-year-old man has been remanded to Dodds Prison after pleading not guilty to threatening two women on October 30.
Shaquan Akeem Prosper, of Belair, St Philip, allegedly told Janis Merritt “wunna so want killing. Wunna so house want burning down and don’t touch me, I got my knife in my bag”, which caused her to believe that immediate violence would be used against her.
On the same day, he also allegedly threatened Merritt and Pamela Phillips with the words, “if wunna come and touch me I gine tek my knife out my bag and stab wunna up and pelt big rocks at wunna when wunna go at the bus stop”.
However, after denying the charge before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant today, Prosper was unable to present a surety to sign bail on his behalf and was remanded to the St Philip penal institution until January 5.
