Dinner and the fireworks show at the Hilton Barbados Resort has become one of the more popular choices for Barbadians ringing in the New Year and this Old Year’s night was no exception as over 500 patrons said goodbye to 2017, the Hilton way.
This year’s event, which was dubbed ‘All that glitters’ began with a prompt 7 p.m. dinner. Guests then made their way to Charles Fort where they partied until the early hours of the morning, pausing only to be amazed by the spectacular fireworks display at midnight.
The hotel’s Director of Sales and Marketing Tracy Jones was extremely pleased with how the night unfolded.
“We are more than satisfied with the response we got this year. We had approximately 500 persons and given how the weather would have been today we managed to get the numbers that we always wanted,” Jones said after early morning rain showers had threatened to overshadow the end of year festivities.
However, those showers dissipated as the progressed and did not seem to in any way discourage partygoers who were eagerly anticipating the year ahead.
From all indications, a good time was had by all.
“They [Hilton] have the very best fireworks show in Barbados and it is really a nice way to start the New Year,” said Shanice Carter.
“Even though this is my third time coming I am still amazed by the fireworks and just the entire atmosphere,” she added.
“Best place in the world to be. I love it,” chimed in an excited Nadine Benn, who was looking forward to 2018 and all the good it would bring.
