A 57-year-old man, who got into a fight with his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend and wounded him, will know his fate on January 19.
Festus Felix Woodley, of Streeks Road, Flagstaff, St Michael must also stay away from his victim, Rodney Harewood, until the matter is adjudicated.
“He is the one that needs to stay away from me Sir,” Woodley told Magistrate Douglas Frederick today, even as he agreed to follow the directive.
Harewood and the woman where involved in a relationship for seven years which ended last year. She then left his residence and moved in with Woodley. However, she told him that Harewood came to their house on January 3 and peeped at her. Later that same day she asked to go to Harewood’s house to visit her daughter and that’s when the trouble started.
Woodley, who went with the woman to Harewood’s house, told Harewood not to come to his house anymore. This led to a fight in which Woodley reportedly pinned Harewood to the ground and armed himself with a rock, striking Harewood in the forehead and biting him on the hand.
The woman intervened and was able to part the fight. The matter was reported to the police while Harewood sought medical attention.
Today, the magistrate adjourned the matter in order for Harewood to appear in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court where the issue of compensation is to be discussed.
