Burglary accused Marlon Omar George has been granted $10,000 bail.
However, Magistrate Douglas Frederick today made it clear that George, of no known address, was only released due to his medical condition.
On his last court appearance, George’s attorney Angella Mitchell-Gittens the magistrate her client would be better served at home.
Registered nurse Selwyn Alleyne, who is currently in charge of the medical unit at HMP Dodds, also revealed that George suffers from myasthenia gravis, which affects the immune system’s normal functions such as swallowing and the lifting of limbs.
“I am only releasing him because he says he has this illness that is affecting him and needs treatment,” Frederick said, while warning the accused man’s surety that she stood to lose the bail amount if George absconded.
