Police are investigating a stabbing incident which occurred sometime around 8 p.m. on Saturday at Jordan’s Supermarket, Fairchild Street, St Michael, which resulted in 52-year-old Anderson Bend, a security officer employed by the supermarket, being stabbed in the chest.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Bend had reasons to speak to a man who was misbehaving in the supermarket.
Both men became involved in an altercation and the assailant stabbed Bend in the chest with a broken bottle before fleeing the scene.
Bend was transported by ambulance to the to QEH for treatment.
Investigations into this matter are continuing.
