A Rendezvous, Christ Church man with three prior convictions for assaulting women, pleaded guilty to his fourth such offence this morning when he appeared in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court. Anderson Fitzgerald Emmanuel, of #27, Amity Lodge, # 1 Rendezvous, admitted to assaulting Kedesha Blackman on January 18, 2018.
It was reported that the complainant and the accused were involved in an intimate relationship. On the date in question Emmanuel accused Blackman of cheating and demanded to see her cellular phone. She refused, and a fight broke out between the couple at which point police were summoned.
However, in reviewing Emmanuel’s record, Magistrate Douglas Frederick pointed out that the accused had convictions for assaulting three previous girlfriends.
“You don’t see a trend? You don’t see that you bring violence in each one of these cases,” Frederick asked the defendant before placing him on a one-year bond.
Emmanuel was also ordered to pay Blackman compensation and to stay away from his latest victim.
“Don’t be like a moth to flame. Even if she calls, don’t go. You have to understand that as a man,” Frederick warned.
He returns to court on February 23.
