The year 2017 was challenging for at least one fast-food chain.
General Manager of Burger King Barbados Ryan Walters reported today that while business has generally been on the uptick since it opened its first outlet at Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall in January 2013, last year was by far the most difficult for the American franchise which now has six outlets here in total.
“Yes, we have had an increase in traffic over the last five years, [but] 2017 was kind of flat. It wasn’t really a good year for us,” Walters said.
The other five locations are The Dome Mall, Trident House, Bridge Street, Sheraton and University Drive.
Today was customer appreciation day at Trident House in recognition of Burger King’s fifth anniversary of operation here.
On Sunday, a church service was also held at St Barnabas Anglican Church. The company also held an invitational football tournament and made a special presentation of a $2,000 cheque to the Sharon Primary School.
Other customer appreciation days are planned for next week.
