Intermittent rains did not deter the 600-odd patrons who turned out last Sunday at the upscale Blueberry Beach Club, located on the island’s west coast, for Champagne Showers, one of Barbados’ premium exclusive events.
The Ibiza-themed event featured some of island’s best deejays who were sure to keep the musical vibes going, as patrons simply drank and partied the night away.
Organizer Kevon Delayne told Bajan Vibes he was pleased with the turnout for the event, which is now in its fourth year.
“I think this is one of the best years for us . . . . It is normally held on a Saturday night but it is a completely different feel on Sunday from 4 p.m. until 11, so when the day changes into the night then you have a different feel,” he said.
In keeping with the taste of Spain theme, the event offered VIP drinks and a hookah lounge with confetti sparkles, much to the appreciation of patrons, including popular entertainer Porgie who spoke to Bajan Vibes about his experience.
“I think it’s great. The location was very good. I think it is a very bougie location in terms of how the people were dressed and it was very good. I enjoyed myself,” he said.
Organizers say they have big plans for the future and are not ruling out taking Champagne Showers global.
“Hopefully it continues to grow and we are one of the bigger names, [but] we definitely want to strengthen the brand locally first,” Delayne said.
