A 41-year-old man, who admitted to having an illegal substance in his possession earlier today, has one month to pay a court-imposed fine if he wants to stay out of Dodds prison.
Christopher Sylvester Forte was at his Lower Richmond Gap, St Michael residence when police executed a search warrant.
In his pocket they found eight grammes of cannabis with a $40 street value.
Forte, who is known to the court for committing such offences, told officers at the time “that is a little weed I had to smoke”.
After the facts were read by the prosecutor, Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant ordered Forte to pay $1,500 by March 2 or spend eight months in jail.
