The royal family of reggae will be making an appearance in Barbados on March 16 at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium.
Grammy award winning reggae band Morgan Heritage will headline what promises to be a thrilling night of performances. Barbados is one of the stops the group will be making on their Avrakedabra World Tour, which runs from February to May.
The family group, which has been existence since 1994, comprises of Peter Peetah Morgan, Una Morgan, Roy Gramps Morgan, Nakhamyah Lukes Morgan, and Memmalatel Mr. Mojo Morgan.
Guyanese reggae artiste Natural Black will be the guest artiste of the night, while top Barbadian acts, such as Lil Rick and Biggie Irie, are also dowm to perform.
Organizer Andrew Weekes told Bajan Vibes that the band was excited to be back in Barbados after more than ten years.
“They have performed in Barbados already, so they are just excited to produce and to put out the vibe and the energy that Morgan Heritage always gives to the public,” Weekes said.
The promoter indicated that the band, which is known for their positive messages, will be spreading “peace and love” to Barbados and the Caribbean region.
“They concentrate on peace and love and that is something that we need in the Caribbean today – to join hands and go hand in hand to get stronger,” Weekes said.
“They have stuck to their roots and their formula, bringing the love to the people and the culture to the people . . . . That is something you can always look forward to from Morgan Heritage,” he added.
