Barbados has recorded its fourth road fatality.
A 50-year-old bicyclist from St Michael, involved in an accident with a car and van along University Hill, St Michael this afternoon, has succumbed to his injuries at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
According to police, around 3:48 p.m., the bicyclist, whose name has not been released, was travelling downhill when he collided head on with the car before striking the van.
The victim suffered injuries to his head, right leg and wrist.
The car was driven by 53-year-old Susan Fitt, of Fitts Village, St James, while 30-year-old Eric Allamby, of Black Bess, St Peter, was the driver of the van.
As investigations continue, police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact the District ‘A’ Police Station at 430-7242 or 430-7246.
