A 33-year-old security officer was granted $1,000 bail today after spending the weekend at HMP Dodds.
Leroy Dacosta Phillips, of White Hall, St Thomas, was remanded to prison last Friday after he was unable to present a surety to post bail on his behalf.
When he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant last week he pleaded not guilty to stealing a pair of headphones worth $30 belonging to Hartley Wiggins on March 1.
He also denied assaulting and resisting Police Sergeant Frank Olton and Constables Andrew Boyce and Rommel Drakes in the execution of their duties on the same day.
The case against Philips continues in the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on June 14.
