A 17-year-old, who pleaded guilty to robbery, has been warned against liming in The City.
Rashon Akeem Sealy, of Crescent No. 4, Cane Vale, Christ Church, admitted to robbing Zidan Gooding of a $350 bag, a $15 pair of headphones and a $10 comb on March 1.
The two young men knew each other as they attended the same secondary school,
However, on the aforementioned date Gooding was at the Nursery Drive Terminal when he saw Sealy and two other men.
Sealy approached him and began to search him, asking whether he had any money. Gooding said he did not and attempted to walk away. However, he was grabbed by Sealy’s two accomplices and forcibly searched. The men reportedly snatched Gooding’s bag and ripped his shirt as Sealy looked on. Gooding later escaped leaving his belongings behind.
Five days later Sealy was arrested. But while admitting to police that he had searched Gooding, he had denied robbing him of his items.
Police are still searching for his accomplices.
In the meantime, Magistrate Douglas Frederick has ordered a pre sentencing report on Sealy who was granted $1,000 bail.
He returns to the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court on May 17.
