A 24-year-old man, accused of two criminal offences, has been remanded to Dodds prison for the next 28 days.
Tremaine Rico Yarde, of no fixed place of abode, is charged with assaulting David Davis on March 8 and having possession of an apparatus fit for the misuse of cocaine.
Yarde pleaded not guilty to the offences after they were read out by Magistrate Douglas Frederick.
When asked why he had no fixed address, Yarde said he lived in Spooners Hill, St Michael. However the magistrate could not take his word and asked the accused to contact someone to verify his address.
By the end of the day’s sitting, no one had appeared and as a result Yarde was sent to the penal institution until April 6.
