A 45-year-old taxi driver appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today where he pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis, cocaine and Alprazolam.
The items were found when police executed a search warrant at Timothy Nicholas Joseph’s 1st Avenue, Amity Lodge, Christ Church residence yesterday.
A plastic bag containing a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine was found on the top shelf of a bedroom closet; a bag with the suspected cannabis was on the kitchen counter; and the tablets, also known as Xanax, were discovered on the dining room table.
Magistrate Douglas Frederick convicted, reprimanded and discharged Joseph on the possession of the cannabis and cocaine charges.
A six-month suspended sentence was imposed for one year on Joseph for the Xanax offence.
