A watersports operator no longer has a rape charge hanging over his head.
The May 31, 2016 case for which Micah Laron Chase of No.4 Gullyfield Avenue, Bayville, St Michael was accused of having sexual intercourse with a woman without her consent, was dismissed in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today.
Magistrates Douglas Frederick threw out the case after prosecutor Sergeant Rudy Pilgrim informed him that he had been instructed not to pursue the matter.
However, Chase still has another criminal matter pending before Frederick.
He is accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Michael Dalrymple on June 28, 2016, a charge that he has denied.
Pilgrim informed the court that the prosecution was seeking an adjournment, given that they had not been able to locate the complainant.
Frederick granted the adjournment until May 9 after hearing from Chase’s attorney Andrew Pilgrim, QC.
