A 16-year-old girl is among a St Michael trio remanded to HMP Dodds on gun and ammunition charges.
Kiana Krisana Shepherd, of Queen Street, Nelson Street, is jointly charged with 34-year-old Damian Winston DaCarlos Ambrose, of Spruce Street, and 21-year-old Jakobi Talik Germaine, of eighth Avenue, New Orleans, with having a firearm and seven rounds of ammunition in their possession on April 13 without the necessary valid licences.
They were not required to plead to the indictable charge when they appeared before Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant on Monday.
However, the teenager pleaded guilty to having 6.2 grammes of cannabis in her possession on the same day.
According to the prosecutor, police were on Nelson Street, The City, conducting an operation when they had an occasion to search Shepherd who was found with several Ziploc bags containing vegetable matter.
“Dem is mine,” she allegedly told police at the time.
Germaine also pleaded guilty to having 1.7 grammes of cannabis after police executed a search warrant at his home.
“It is mine,” he reportedly told police after the illegal substance was found in his pants pocket.
The sentencing of Shepherd and Germaine, who were previously not known to the court, was deferred.
In the meantime, Ambrose was charged with three assault offences, but those were dismissed after the complaint said she was no longer interested in pursuing the matters.
The trio returns to the No.2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on May 14.
