The presence of God could be felt at the Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex last Saturday as hundreds of patrons sang, jumped, waved and dance unto the Lord at Jus Worship.
The HiArt Entertainment Group event was a hit among gospel lovers as Barbados welcomed for the first time, international recording artist Travis Greene.
His powerful testimony introduced his song Made A Way that left many in tears with their hands lifted high. Greene performed See the Light, You Waited and many other songs from his most recent album Crossover. He also sang crowd favorites like Intentional from his 2015 album The Hill. He gave a soulful rendition of Imela before breaking into prophetic song as he prayed over Barbados, saying “I’m so grateful that Your blood travels from Calvary to Barbados.”
Greene’s exceptional set included a medley of gospel songs including Chris Tomlin’s Good Good Father and JJ Hairston’s You Deserve It.
Local young gospel artist Jai Symone exuded talent and fire for Jesus. Joined by Jaicko, she opened the show with a cover of Hillsong United’s Ocean that set the perfect atmosphere. Jai Symone also featured other young artists throughout her set, performing Tasha Cobbs Your Spirit, Hillsong’s What a Beautiful Name and Todd Dulaney’s King of Glory. She was joined by Krystal Dodson, PasQuin and Asha Ward – all performances that were too good to describe.
Trinidadian Sherwin Gardner brought a bit of Trini culture to the stage as he began his set with the popular catch phrase ‘look trouble now.’ He most definitely stirred up trouble as he sang his well-known song Best Praise which had the Gymnasium shaking.
But it was his passionate performance of Because of You that tugged on the hearts of audienceº across the room whom he reminded that Victory Belongs to Jesus with a cover of Todd Dulaney’s song.
It was a night well spent.
