A Transport Board bus has gone up in flames.
Police and fire officials are still on the scene of the incident which occurred at 5:50 a.m. along Porters, St James.
According to police spokesman Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss, the bus was en route to Speightstown, St Peter when passengers alerted the driver to smoke coming from the rear of the vehicle.
The driver and his 15 passengers escaped without serious injury, although two people complained of discomfort as a result of smoke inhalation.
One fire tender and three officers responded and were able to extinguish the blaze.
However, all that was left of the vehicle was a burnt out shell by the time the fire was brought under control.
Investigations are continuing.
