Don’t expect 18-year-old Abraham Emmanuel Hinds to voluntary walk into the Psychiatric Hospital for help.
The Block 3D, Culvert Terrace, Haynesville, St James resident made it absolutely clear today that he would not visit the facility despite a request by his mother for him to be assessed for treatment at Verdun House.
Hinds’ mother explained that of late he had been acting differently and professional intervention was needed.
However Boyce, who pleaded not guilty to assaulting Marlene Thomas and Virginia Burnette on April 23, said: “I don’t need no help”.
Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant informed his mother that she could not impose such an order as Boyce had denied the two offences before the court and he would need to consent in order to get the suggested help.
“No, not interested! I am not going. I is a big man, I does work for my money,” the accused teenager told the court.
With no objections from prosecutor Sergeant Cameron Gibbons, Boyce was released on $2,000 bail on condition that he stays away from the complainants.
Boyce, who will make his next appearance in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on June 20, must also adhere to a daily 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew.
