A 40-year-old unemployed man will call HMP Dodds home for the next 36 months.
Today, Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant imposed the sentence on Lawrence Nathaniel Hayden Blunte, of 3J Division Drive, Eden Lodge, St Michael, after the facts of four criminal offences were detailed in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.
When Blunte first appeared in court on March 28 he pleaded guilty to entering the home of Beulah Ellis as a trespasser and stealing an iPhone worth $300. He also admitted to stealing a hammer, a stereo, and battery belonging to Imran Mohamed worth $725, as well as to damaging a truck belonging to Confectionary and Snacks (Barbados) Limited.
However Blunte, who has ten prior convictions – most of them for theft – had denied stealing four cases of beer and a radio worth $430 belonging to Nicholas King, but today he had a change of heart.
In all of the cases the complainants left their possessions intact but found them missing or damaged the following day.
