The family of 33-year-old Dwayne Forde has been thrown into shock after the St Philip resident was shot and killed early Sunday.
Police say they received a report from medical personnel at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital that Forde had been transported to the Accident & Emergency Department of the hospital by private transportation around 5:30 this morning, following an incident at the ‘Mad Pub Bar’ located at the junction of Combermere Street and Bay Street, St Michael. He passed away while at the department.
When a Barbados TODAY team visited Forde’s family in Silver Hill, Christ Church, the entire community was still in shock over the news of his death.
Forde, who operated a PSV on Route 10 (Silver Hill), was described by many as a “cool and peaceful man”.
His sister, who did not want to be identified by name, was still in disbelief that her brother had died.
She said her brother, who was affectionately known as Bush, did not give any trouble and she simply could not understand what happened.
“I was in complete shock when I heard the news this morning. All I could ask was, ‘who Bush? not my Bush!’ I can’t believe it, I don’t know what I am going to do,” she stressed, adding that he was the best brother she had.
“He is about his children, his nephew, his niece, the food, providing for them. He about the hustle, making sure that everybody taken care of,” she said of the father of two.
Police are asking anyone who can provide any information that can assist with their investigation into Forde’s death to call the nearest police station. (KH)
