Police have confirmed reports that three people have been killed in two fatal road accidents.
Details are still sketchy on the accident which occurred at Foursquare, St Philip, claiming two lives.
However, Police Public Relations Officer Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss told Barbados TODAY a short while ago he was on his way to further investigate the matter, after visiting the tragic scene at the Belle, St Michael where a 45-year-old male lost his life after the vehicle in which he was travelling crashed.
The accident occurred about 150 metres away from the Norman Niles Roundabout.
Inniss said the driver, a 37-year-old male, lost control of his red Toyota sports utility vehicle and eventually crashed into a tree, killing the front seat passenger.
Both the driver and his rear seat passenger – a 40 year-old female – survived, but had to rushed to hospital by ambulance.
A section of the Belle Road is currently cordoned off as a result of the accident, which occurred around 5:55 p.m.
