The Geriatric Hospital has received a donation of fans, leather chairs, folding chairs, stacking chairs and blood pressure machines from One Welches Limited as a part of their corporate social responsibility.
Director of One Welches Limited, James Edghill said that the private sector must do its part in assisting worldly causes.
“Every year we set aside a certain amount of revenue to support cases [such] as this. This year, we choose to support the Geriatric Hospital,” he said, adding that they asked the hospital what items they needed and provided them to be used as needed, in lieu of a monetary cash donation.
Manager of the Geriatric Hospital Joanell Oxley-Worrell thanked the company for their donation, saying it would help them deliver health care to its members.
“This is a donation from Terra Caribbean and One Welches Limited on behalf of the elderly clients as well as the staff of the hospital. I would like to say thank you very much to the persons who donated from these two companies.” Oxley-Worrell said.
The Hospital Manager added that the Beckles Road Facility currently has 286 elderly patients with 20 persons coming for day care services. (LG)
