Four lucky exhibitors won vouchers compliments Pure Ocean Beachside Dining and Accra Beach Hotel from entering the Barbados TODAY’s fishbowl raffle held at BMEX over the Whitsuntide weekend.
Members of the Sales and Marketing Team at Barbados TODAY made the draw for the winners on May 22nd and those chosen were Shon Bowen from KRS Tropical Fish, Liesel Daisley from Eden Brook Medical & Supplies Services, Cherise Harris from Wilhemina Heart and Khala Hurdle from Kalene Designs who was unable to attend the presentations held on Wednesday.
Shon Bowen who won a lunch for two at Pure Ocean said that he was excited to win as his friend was the one who entered his business card in the competition.
“I felt ecstatic when I heard that I won. On the given day, I was not actually at BMEX but one of my partners was there and put in my business card. So when I received the call I was actually surprised and as soon as it happened, I called and told them about it. They felt really good and of course I will be taking my wife,” Bowen said.
Newly married winner of a lunch for two at Pure Ocean Beachside Dining, Cherise Harris said she would be taking her husband to lunch.
“I feel really happy and I think this will be the perfect date for my husband and I. We have been married for two years now and I would like to thank you,” Harris said.
The lone winner for a lunch for two at Accra Beach Hotel and Spa was Liesel Daisley who said she was thrilled to win and would be taking her mother to a well-deserved post mother’s day lunch.
“Well, I guess a lot of people who win something say – I have never won anything before in my life – and I feel excited as I cannot really remember winning anything. So, I am going to use it very soon. I did not get the opportunity to take my mother on a proper Mother’s Day lunch so this will be her [treat],” she said.
Sales and Marketing Manager at Barbados TODAY David Williams said the raffle was a part of a joint venture with the company’s partners as well as a way to promote the company’s new app.
“We did it with Automotive Arts, Martindales, Keisha’s Cheesecakes, Mix Bits, Cave Shepherd, Seawell Air Services, Merri’s Hair Designs, Olympus Theatres, Pure Ocean Beach Dining, Accra Beach Hotel, Harrison’s Cave and Savannah Beach Hotel. It was an opportunity to give back and get people to know about our new Breaking News app. We also wanted to build brand awareness about the services that Barbados TODAY provides,” Williams said. He also thanked all the contributors who worked with Barbados TODAY to make the event possible.
