A Jamaican national, who allegedly imported $6,000 worth of cannabis into Barbados, has been remanded to Dodds prison until June 20.
He is Richardo McClean Madden, of St Ann’s, Jamaica, is also accused of possession, possession with intent to supply and trafficking of the illegal substance on June 13.
The accused was not required to plead when he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant today, as the offences allegedly occurred in the District ‘B’ jurisdiction.
However, Sergeant Cameron Gibbons objected to bail on the grounds that he is a non-national and had no ties to the country, as well as the fact that the offences occurred when he first entered the country by air on the aforementioned date.
Madden will make his next appearance before the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court.
