The much-anticipated Sweet Soca and Party Monarch semifinals show at the Kensington Oval has been marred by protest as artistes complain about backstage hospitality arrangements by the National Cultural Foundation (NCF).
So far no comment has been forthcoming from the NCF on the matter. However, several artistes bitterly complained to Barbados TODAY about the inadequate arrangements that were made for them.
However, the 10 p.m. show, which has been billed as ‘Phenomenal Friday’ and also includes the International Bashment Soca Competition, finally got started just over an hour later than scheduled after the NCF event coordinator Aja intervened.
Tonight, a total of 44 performers are down to grace the Kensington Oval stage in the three popular Crop Over festival competitions.
