Five men, accused of gun crimes, today began a 28-day stint on remand at Dodds prison.
They are: 21-year-old Shaquon Rashed Stafford, of No 2, Skeetes Road, Ivy, St Michael; 23-year-old Rashed Jabar Gittens, of Belleview Gap, Waterford, St Michael; 23-year-old Razario Dave Anthony Boyce, of Howells Cross Road, St Michael, 37-year-old Andrew St Mark and 42-year-old Corey St Clair Trotman, both of Dash Valley, St George.
The men are jointly charged with using a firearm without a valid licence and engaging in unlawful violence, causing other persons to fear for their personal safety on July 1.
They were not required to plead to the charges.
Gittens, who is represented by attorney-at-law Angella Mitchell-Gittens, is charged with Boyce, who is unrepresented, with dishonestly assisting in the retention, removal or disposal of a glock pistol and a magazine between June 1 and July 1.
Stafford, who also has Mitchell-Gittens as his legal counsel, is accused of robbing Sean Edwards of a number of items totaling $1,845.
It is further alleged that he stole a glock pistol, two magazines, 30 rounds of ammunition and several other items belonging to the Crown and that he robbed Ameina Storey of a $500 cellular phone on June 1. He is also accused of robbing Anesta Henry and Orlando Burke of several items, as well as cash totaling $3,105, on the same date.
Stafford is further charged with possession of a firearm without a valid licence between June 1 and July 1, as well as with burglarizing the home of Nicholas Mentore on October 27, 2017.
St Mark and Trotman are represented by attorney-at-law Shadia Simpson.
The accused men return before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant on August 7.
