A teenager, who is already on remand, had two new criminal charges levelled against him today.
It is alleged that 18-year-old Diego Reyshan Wilson, of Spencer’s Gap, Baxters Road, St Michael, engaged in unlawful and malicious conduct on December 16, 2016, which placed Jakeem Germain and Codi Agard in danger of death or serious bodily harm.
The accused was not required to plead to the indictable charges when he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant.
However, Sergeant Cameron Gibbons objected to bail based on the nature and seriousness of the charges and the fact that a firearm was used in the commission of the offences.
The prosecutor also pointed to the strength of the evidence against Wilson and the need to protect society.
“There is fear the accused may commit similar offences if released . . . . And he is also presently on a firearm charge in the No.1 District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court,” Gibbons submitted.
Wilson was therefore remanded to Dodds until Wednesday when his attorney Kamisha Benjamin is expected to make an application for bail on his behalf.
