Barbados has two new junior calypso kings.
A short while ago, Quon was crowned monarch in the 13-18 category following a keenly contested competition in which he rendered ‘Why I sing’. He also walked away with the coveted $2,500 cheque, trophy and other prizes at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium.
Second place in the 13-18 category went to Yahandje singing ‘Dont Cry’, while Dynamo was third with ‘Tales from the Crypt’. The Overcomer was fourth singing ‘Bon Apetite’.
In the 7-12 category, Browne Star claimed the coveted crown along with his trophy and bragging rights for his ‘Peace’. He also won $2,000 in cash along with other prizes.
Second was Mighty Bit Bit singing, ‘Please Give Bit Bit the Crown’, third was Sakarah doing ‘Colour My Barbados’ and fourth was Master Kei.
