In 2016, revellers were covered in black. Last year, they were blue from head to toe. On the morning of Friday, August 3, the Jabnival massive was red all over in keeping with the theme Jabnival Rojo. The feters brought the hyped party to Pirates Cove in The City from 11:59 p.m. Thursday night to 7 a.m. Friday morning.
It’s a favourite with people of all nationalities and promoters One Island Entertainment continue to get the support and patronage from London, the United States and the French Virgin Islands. Lucian, Vincentian and Trini flags were also spotted in the mas.
Each year the event seems to not only get bigger but better, based on the growing size of the crowd and nationalities present. And, although there were no live performances, as was the case in previous years, the DJs did an excellent job of keeping the party hyped with current Crop Over 2018 hits and old time favourites. The DJs too hailed from London, the United States and Trinidad and included The Riddim from London, Kevin Crown from New York City, Hype Man from Trinidad, Monstapiece, Blank, Indian and Chris Gayle, and Touchdown and Release.
Promoters thanked the crowd for their continued patronage and yet another incident-free j’ouvert. They also made special mention of their sponsors.
