The Optimist Club of Barbados Central (OCBC) donated two Infusomat Space Pumps to the Department of Paediatrics at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital this morning.
The pumps are valued at $10,400 and were purchased with funds raised by the OCBC. They will benefit hundreds of patients, particularly mothers, neonates, infants and children as they will be used to deliver fluids and other medications. The equipment will also help the Head of the Department of Paediatrics and her team provide quality healthcare to the children of Barbados
President of the Optimist Club of Barbados Dionne O’Connor told the hospital’s management and staff that a mechanical chair scale will also be donated in the upcoming weeks.
“The chair is a great and convenient way [to weigh] patients with reduced mobility including those with physical disabilities,” O’Connor said. The total donation including the wheelchair is $13,000. (LG)
