Barbados is now under a flood watch until noon tomorrow.
According to the Barbados Meteorological Services cloudy skies and scattered showers, which affected the island during the night and into the early morning, associated with an approaching tropical wave diminished as the morning progressed but more activity is on the way.
It said that satellite and radar imagery now indicate the potential for some outbreaks of moderate to heavy showers during the afternoon and into tonight.
It said further analysis suggests the wave will continue to affect the island into tomorrow.
The Met office advised residents living in flood prone areas to be on alert and take the necessary precautions.
It added that the watch could be up-graded to a warning tomorrow.
